Deadlines

  • Registration with Free Student Hotel Room Requests: Friday March 21st, 2025
  • Registration with Abstract Submission: Monday March 24th, 2025
  • Registration with lunch and/or dinner: Thursday March 27th, 2025
  • Registration only (no food, no room, no abstract): Friday April 4th, 2025

The deadline to request free student hotel rooms along with your registration is Friday March 21st, 2025

If you want to submit only an abstract when you register (i.e. no room and no meals) that is due by Monday March 24th, 2025. Abstract questions can be directed to Dr. Laura Tuhela-Reuning at lmtuhela@owu.edu

  • Covers meeting registration and OBASM membership:
  • Full Members: $20
  • Students or Postdoctoral Fellows: $10

Abstracts

  • Abstract submission deadline is Monday March 24th, 2025
  • The abstract information is entered during registration by the presenting author (only)
  • You will be notified by Wednesday March 26th, 2025 via email if you will present your research in poster or podium format

Abstract Requirements

  • Formatted Abstract Text is directly entered into the registration form (no file upload)
  • The abstract must include the title, all authors, and all author affiliations
  • The title should be in bold type and centered
  • The presenting author‘s name should be in bold type with a superscript asterisk (*) after the surname
  • The abstract body should be left justified, and be 300 words or less in length
  • The layout and formatting should follow this example:

Body of the abstract goes here and should be left justified. The body can be up to 300 words in length (not counting the title, authors, and institutions). Hopefully you have read the requirements above and follow this example formatting.

  • Poster maximum dimensions are 56″ wide by 44″ tall

Rubrics

Free Student Lodging (Friday night – limited rooms)

There are a limited number of free hotel rooms for graduate, undergrad, and high school students for lodging on Friday evening at: Quality Inn and Suites in Delaware
  • Lodging Requests must be entered during registration no later than Friday March 21st, 2025
  • Free lodging is available on a first-requested-first-served basis
  • There will be 4 students assigned to each room.
  • We will try to place students from the same institution in the same room (in groups of 4)
  • You may be placed in a room with someone from another institution
  • For lodging questions, contact Dr. Stephanie Strand at sstrand@wooster.edu

Registration and Payment

Every person attending the meeting must register for themselves

  • If someone else is paying for you:
    1. Complete registration for yourself
      • Enter name of who will be paying for you when prompted
    2. Complete an on-line order for yourself
      • Choose the ‘Check mailed in advance‘ payment option during checkout
  • If you will be paying for others:
    1. Complete registration for yourself
    2. Complete an on-line order for yourself (only)
      • Choose the ‘Check mailed in advance‘ payment option during checkout.
    3. Email Dr. Christine Weingart at weingartc@denison.edu, as soon as possible, with the list of the people you will be paying for
    4. Arrange with Dr. Weingart to make the needed payment:

  • Refund Policy
    • Refunds will be granted if requested prior to Friday March 14th, 2025. Contact the OBASM Secretary/Treasurer.

Ensure you have the following prior to registering:

  • Method of Payment (PayPal, Credit Card, or Check mailed in advance)
  • Formatted Abstract text, if submitting (Form accepts paste from common editors such as MS Word)
  • Avoid using the browser back button while registering (use the back button at bottom of form instead)
